Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Bitir mobile application and related services ("Service") operated by Bitir ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
Bitir is a private group coaching and communication platform. Managers, coaches, and teachers create groups and invite members. Within groups, users can exchange messages, share files, participate in polls, track goals, complete assignments, and celebrate progress.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use Bitir. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement.
3. Your account
You register with your phone number and verify it via a one-time SMS code. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.
You may provide a display name and profile photo. You agree not to impersonate another person or use a misleading identity.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
- Harass, bully, threaten, or intimidate other users.
- Post content that is defamatory, obscene, hateful, or promotes violence.
- Share another person's private information without their consent.
- Upload malware, viruses, or any harmful code.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' accounts or to our systems.
- Use the Service to send spam or unsolicited messages.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
- Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to access the Service without permission.
5. Group managers
If you create or manage a group, you are responsible for the conduct within it. This includes:
- Setting appropriate group rules and expectations for members.
- Moderating content and addressing inappropriate behaviour.
- Ensuring that invitations are sent only to people who would reasonably want to receive them.
- Respecting member privacy and not sharing member data outside the group without consent.
We may remove or restrict groups that consistently violate these Terms.
6. Content
You retain ownership of the content you post. By posting content on Bitir, you grant us a limited licence to store, display, and transmit that content as necessary to provide the Service.
We do not monitor or pre-screen content, but we reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms. Group managers may also moderate content within their groups.
7. Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal data.
8. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the Service available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of significant changes.
9. Termination
You may delete your account at any time through the app. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or if required by law. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Bitir and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bitir and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by other appropriate means. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
